In some bookmarks, the pattern is positioned as a mirror image, i.e. it is identical on both sides. But, there are also those that have two different parts of the image.
The painting “In the Orangery” was made by Olga Boznańska in 1890. It belongs to the collection of the National Museum in Cracow.
Polish painter, portraitist creating in the trend of modernism. She lived in the years 1865-1940. Her portraits brought her the greatest fame. Another frequent theme of her paintings were the studio and views from the window.
The canvas depicts a girl standing surrounded by lush flowers and plants. Looking towards the recipient of the painting with anxiety and interest. The painting can be considered in the themes of corporeality, adolescence and childhood. The gardener as an exotic flower growing in the family home, metaphorically shown as a greenhouse.
