Magnetic – puzzle postcard
The postcard designed by us shows the painting “Frenzy (Frenzy of Elation)” made by Władysław Podkowiński. It belongs to the collection of the National Museum in Cracow.
Size: 10 x 15 cm
Other side: space for note.
You can write on it like on a normal postcard. Then break the puzzle pieces and put them in the envelope. Send them to your friend or nephew or niece. They will have fun putting it together and trying to decipher what you wrote! And then they can arrange the picture on the fridge and have their own piece of art.
The artistworkedunder the pseudonym “Andrzej Ansgary”. He lived in the years 1866-1895. He was a Polishpainter and illustrator. Also a precursor of impressionism in Poland. Towards the end of his life he leanedtowardssymbolism.
His most famous painting is the title “Frenzy of Exultation”. It shows a naked woman sitting on a horse that “rears”. It was shown for the first time in an atmosphere of scandal during an exhibition at the Warsaw Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts. In unexplained circumstances, the artist cut the painting just before the planned closing of the exhibition.
