The notebook presents the painting “Vicious Circle” made by Jacek Malczewski. It belongs to the collection of the National Museum in Pozna\u0144.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Polish painter from Radom. He lived in the years 1854-1929. The main representative of symbolism at the turn of the century (XIX\/XX). He created sketches, drawings and paintings (about 2000 pieces). Of which about 1,200 have survived today. A significant collection of his works is in the Art Gallery in Lviv.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Vicious Circle” is one of the most important paintings in his oeuvre. This is the so-called work-manifesto. It combines folk, patriotic and mythological themes. The boy sitting on the ladder has a metaphorical meaning.The ladder divides the composition into two parts: the left side (mythological and folk characters), the right side (dramatic and patriotic).
